One download, a whole school: how Local Sharing works
Share lessons between computers over a hotspot, without spending data on every machine.
Data is expensive, and many schools share one connection between several computers. Downloading the same lessons on every machine wastes both time and money. Local Sharing solves this.
What it does
Local Sharing lets one computer running Digital Elimu share its downloaded lessons with other licensed Digital Elimu computers nearby, over a hotspot or the same local network. No internet is needed for the transfer.
How to use it
- On the computer that already has the lessons, open Local Sharing and start sharing. Digital Elimu can create a hotspot for you.
- Connect the other computers to that hotspot or network.
- On each of them, open Local Sharing. They find the sharing computer automatically and list its lessons.
- Choose the lessons to copy. They download over the local connection and are ready to use offline.
Who can receive lessons
Only computers with an active Digital Elimu licence can receive and open shared lessons. This keeps lessons protected while making it simple for a school to equip every classroom.
